ProjectsISPA CODI Assessment of Social Protection Programmes in Punjab
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is assisting Government of Pakistan to strengthen capacities of relevant stakeholders in field of social protection. Social Protection (SP) programme supports the national, provincial and district level governments in designing, coordinating, implementing, and promoting social protection programs to increase awareness about these programs.
The Urban Unit is conducting qualitative analysis of selected social protection programmes on behalf of GiZ. The CODI assessment mechanism is the tool being utilized for this purpose, and this is first time implemented in Pakistan. The scope of this assessment is of six major social protection initiatives across districts of Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha and Lahore. The programmes being assessed are:
- Benazir lncome Support Programme
- PM National Health Programme
- Khidmat Card for PWD
- Khidmat Card for Brick Kiln workers
- Punjab Employees Social Security lnstitution
- Punjab Vocational Technical Council training scheme for Development of Youth
Focus group discussions and key informant interviews are carried out for collection of requisite data in close coordination with GiZ.
